Another WVU student struck by vehicle

MORGANTOWN — A WVU student was undergoing emergency surgery Feb. 20, after being struck by a vehicle earlier that day, Morgantown Police Chief Ed Preston said.

The accident occurred about 10:30 a.m., at the intersection of Evansdale Drive and Monongahela Boulevard, the chief said.

According to reports, the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when she was hit by the vehicle, which was identified as a Ford F-Series pickup truck.

Neither the victim’s nor the name of the driver was released, Preston said.

The victim’s parents were en route to Morgantown, the chief said.

The driver, meanwhile, hasn’t been charged, as the case is still under investigation, Preston said.
