MORGANTOWN — For the eighth year Feb. 2, Monongalia County Health Department Dentistry gave brighter smiles to area children as part of a nationwide effort.
The American Dental Association (ADA) launched Give Kids a Smile Day in 2003, as a way for dental-care providers to join with others in the community to offer free dental services to underserved children. In 2017, MCHD Dentistry had more than 60 children participate.
This year, Dr. Dan Carrier and registered dental hygienists — Roger Reed, Tiffany Summerlin and Whitney Holmes — offered their services . Kids could get cleanings, exams and fluoride treatments, as well as sealants, if needed.
