MOOREFIELD — Led by Joel Robertson offensively and defensively, the Trinity boys’ basketball team leaped past the Yellow Jackets, 70-42, for their 10th win Jan. 27.
“We started off slow and Jo Zini picked up two fouls,” head coach John Fowkes said. “We were a little lethargic and you could tell in warm ups, but we started to get after it on defensively. We held top scorer (Garrett Haggerty) to 14 points and Joel Robertson locked him down a majority of the game, and was on fire offensively. He had a heck of a game.”
Robertson finished with a team-high 19 points. Zini also had a big dunk down the baseline for Trinity and helped swing momentum in the Warriors’ favor. He finished with 13 points.
Trinity (10-3) will host No. 1 Wheeling Central at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31. basketball
