CUMBERLAND, Md. — Ethan Rideway connected on 14 field goals and scored 31 points to lead the top-ranked University High boys’ basketball team to an 88-48 victory against Allegany (Md.) on Jan. 22.
The Hawks (10-0) pulled away with a 34-14 scoring advantage in the third quarter and then added 25 points in the fourth.
Ridgeway also added eight rebounds and four assists, while teammate Kaden Metheny added 18 points and seven assists.
UHS turned the ball over just three times and connected on 11 3-pointers.
Justin Copman led Allegany (7-4) with 15 points.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Buckhannon-Upshur 63, Morgantown 55
TENNERTON — Top-ranked Buckhannon-Upshur was led by Hanna McClung’s 19 points and teammate Lauren Bennett added 16.
B-U took control of the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring MHS, 22-10.
The Buccaneers (11-1) also went 16 of 20 from the foul line and connected on 11 3-pointers.
MHS (9-4) was led by Sydni Clawges, who finished with 16 points, while teammates Aleena McDaniel scored 13 and Kaitlyn Ammons scored 11.
MHS will host Wheeling Park, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
