PINE GROVE — Valley Wetzel took advantage of some cold Clay-Battelle shooting in the second half to escape with a 55-53 win on Dec. 21.
Valley chipped away after falling behind, 13-0. C-B (1-3) managed seven third-quarter points.
“They out-muscled us for a little bit, and it was hard to get in a rhythm,”
C-B coach Josh Kisner said. “Things got chippy. There were some hard fouls. It was hard to get in a groove that third quarter.”
Levi Streets scored a game-high 26 points to lead Valley Wetzel (4-1). Avery Kincade and Ethan Greathouse tallied
11 points apiece.
Levi Carrico paced the Cee-Bees with 17 points. Seth Casino scored 15 and Gunner Brummage 13.
C-B plays again Jan. 3, hosting South Harrison.
