MORGANTOWN — Grafton landed four players and Preston one on the all-Big Ten Conference football team.
Bearcats Garrett Ware (defensive line), Trevor Cayton (linebacker), Dylan Petit (defensive back) and Caleb Bish (offensive utility) and the Knights’ Blake Miller (linebacker) all made the second team.
Fairmont Senior had the offensive player of the year, Bryson Gilbert, and lineman of the year, Dante Stills.
Philip Barbour had the defensive player of the year, Hunter Mason, and coach of the year, Russ Collett.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Buckhannon-Upshur 62, University 46: Hannah McClung and Allie Robinson scored 20 points each and the Bucs rallied from a 19-12 first-1quarter deficit to defeat the Hawks (1-2).
Ashten Boggs netted 20 points for UHS, which sunk 21 shots from th floor to 18 for B-U, but was just 2 of 7 from the free throw line while the Bucs were 21 of 28.
University’s next game is Thursday, at rival Morgantown High.

JV GIRLS
University 51, Buckhannon-Upshur 41: Lindsey Vorndran and Kathryn Lerfald had 13 points each for the Hawks (1-0).
MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS
South 7s 48, West Fairmont 32: Brody Davis and Cameron Danser netted 12 points each to lead the Stallions (1-0).
West Fairmont 55, South 8s 52: Alec Poland tallied 24 points to top the Stallions (1-0). Brooks Gage added 11. Kayson Nealy led West with 17 points.
Trinity 8s 80, Rives-ville 22: Kane Eanes had 14 points, Zach Workman added 12 and Jude Wiseman-Raven tallied 10 for the Warriors (1-2).
Westwood 8s 32, Central Preston 26: Aaron Forbes led the Warriors (2-0) with 20 points. Jahseer Ward and Jacob Burns had six points each for the Wildcats (0-1).
MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS
St. Francis 8s 57, Clay-Battelle 19: Kerrington Peasak tallied 18 points and Sophia Wassick 11 for the Trojans (2-1). Peasak added 10 rebounds, Bella Flanigan had four steals and Sophia Wassick contributed four assists. Alivia Ammons topped the Cee-Bees with 19 points.
