WEST UNION — Fighting its way back through the loser’s bracket, the Cee-Bees forced a showdown with Trinity for a chance to advance to the regional.
The Cee-Bees beat the Irish, 21-25, 25-15, 20-25,
25-23 and 15-10, then dispatched the Titans, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-21, at Doddridge County High.
Clay-Battelle (18-15) plays Trinity at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 1, with the winner advancing to meet Doddridge immediately after for the sectional title.
The section champion and runner-up advance to the regional.
Maddie Pennington piled up 22 points, 21 kills and 10 blocks to power the C-B.
McKayli Nayper added 21 points; Alexis Pride 18 points and 49 assists; Lily Currence 21 points; and Hailey Carreon 16 points.
