AUBURN, N.Y. (AP) — Adam Oller struck out 10 over 5 2/3 innings, leading the West Virginia Black Bears over the Auburn Doubledays in a 5-1 win Sept. 2. With the victory, the Black Bears swept the three-game series.
Oller (5-3) picked up the win. He walked one while allowing two hits.
West Virginia started the scoring with a big sixth inning, when it put up four runs, including a two-run double by Michael De La Cruz.
The Black Bears tacked on another run in the seventh, when Deon Stafford scored on a passed ball.
Jared Johnson (0-2) allowed four runs and got two outs in the New York-Penn League game.
West Virginia had a season-high six doubles.
With the win, West Virginia is 6-3 against Auburn this season.
