KINGWOOD – Kingwood resident Alex Evans said she is a proponent of both quilting and recycling, so she recycles cloth.
“My family was into recycling. I’ve been doing it my entire life. All of my quilts are made from recycled material,” Evans said. She said the only things she buys new for the quilts she makes are filler and thread.
This type of recycling is not new. For hundreds of years, people have made quilts from worn out clothes, feed sacks and anything else that could be sewn together.
