IV infusions on the go with Almost Heaven Mobile Hydration

While IV hydration was once relegated to hospitals, an increasing number of “drip bars” are opening across the country. In these establishments, individuals can receive IVs of vitamins and minerals or select medications to boost health, speed recovery from illnesses or athletic training and increase energy levels.

The IV hydration therapy industry is growing, spurred in part by a healthy dose of anecdotal evidence popping up on celebrity social media accounts. In 2023, a report by Allied Market Research valued the market at $2.3 billion and projected it would reach $4.9 billion within a decade.

Krystal Colunga, a registered nurse with over a decade of experience, opened Almost Heaven Mobile Hydration to share the benefits of IV hydration with the Morgantown community. While Colunga has built her business to provide services on location at special events and workplaces, Almost Heaven maintains a dedicated infusion room at Honey Salon, 1195 Pineview Drive. The clinic employs a team of registered nurses to administer treatments. There are blends to help with hangovers and others to support healthy pregnancies. One specialty infusion is designed to reduce the pain and nausea associated with migraine headaches.

Besides IV therapy, the menu of services includes injections such as B12, Vitamin D and anti-inflammatories. The infusions and injections are sourced from reputable compounding pharmacies registered with the FDA. While the FDA does not review compounded drugs themselves, registered pharmacies must follow the same strict guidelines as pharmaceutical manufacturers. Almost Heaven further demonstrates a commitment to patient well-being and safety by requiring that patients have a health assessment by a physician before beginning to receive treatments. This exam can be conducted via the Hydreight app for a $25 fee. While treatments are not usually covered by health insurance, Almost Heaven accepts HSA and FSA cards.
